Due to the nature of Bradfords’ business, its staff operate across a variety of settings, spanning trade branches and offices. To keep each of these running, Bradfords requires a range of goods ranging from day-to-day stationery through to safety supplies and furniture.
Bradfords’ Procurement team was keen to consolidate these goods with as few suppliers as possible. In doing so, it hoped to streamline its ordering, billing and administration, whilst achieving volume-based savings.
OfficeTeam has worked with Bradfords for over five years, having originally been contracted to supply stationery. Through our stationery service, Bradfords experienced firsthand the high levels of service we can deliver – including next day delivery by our in-house fleet and support from a dedicated Account Manager and named Customer Services contacts.
Alongside stationery, our catalogue encompasses the entire spectrum of workplace supplies. This has allowed us to offer Bradfords the same level of service across a much wider range of goods.
Accordingly, we have worked with Bradfords to consolidate other product categories within our service as its supply arrangements have approached renewal. As a result, alongside its stationery, we now supply the following:
Furniture – Initially, we helped fit-out Bradfords’ new stores. However, we have since scoped its wider furniture requirements. This has included defining a carefully-selected set of items for each of Bradfords’ settings, colour-coded to match the brand of each company within the Group.
Workwear – Across its stores, warehouses and offices, Bradfords’ staff require a variety of uniforms and safety garments. These range from branded polo-shirts and fleeces to make store staff recognisable to customers, to ‘high vis’ jackets and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as boots and goggles to keep warehouse workers safe. To meet this broad scope, we now supply around 200 different workwear lines for Bradfords.
Workplace – Bradfords’ sites require a range of janitorial and first aid products, ranging from day-to-day cleaning and sanitary consumables through to safety supplies. We took on the supply of these goods and also arranged free fitting of dispensers that match the newly selected products.
Staff place orders via our OfficeTeam Connect online ordering site. We have agreed a core list with Bradfords which has been programmed into the portal. Staff can order freely from this list. Meanwhile, any orders for non-core items are automatically routed to head office for approval. We have also set up order templates within the portal, so staff can easily place repeat orders for frequently-ordered essential products, such as first aid and stationery supplies.
Through our consolidated service, we also supply new store opening packs to support store openings. This single delivery contains all of the products a new store needs to get up-and-running. Furthermore, delivery is coordinated with the store opening date.
Our dedicated Account Manager liaises with Bradfords’ Head Office on a daily basis to provide updates on the progress of each order. They also arrange quarterly review meetings, perform frequent site visits and circulate regular usage reports. In addition, Bradfords has ‘on demand’ access to management information via the reporting suite within our Connect ordering site.
In an unusual value added service, we recently introduced Bradfords to another OfficeTeam client which required a large delivery of timber. This demonstrates our commitment to supporting its success.
